A properly aerated pond will reduce algae production and help maintain a firm, organic-free bottom.  Under aerated water can actually cause more damage than no aeration at all.  Aeration systems must be adequate and three diffusers per acre of water is a good rule of thumb.  An aeration system consists of a compressor, air line, diffusers, and an enclosure.  Aeration aids in pond mixing and breakdown of organic matter through increased dissolved oxygen (DO) content.  Aeration will also help maintain a healthy fish population as the increased DO will help to ease the stress of late season oxygen deficits in the pond.

Services may include assessment of DO concentrations and determination of aeration needs.  Proper sizing and placement of these systems is required to prevent fish kills and nutrient re-suspension, promote healthy fish populations, and improve water quality.  In addition to sales, we also install and service all types of systems.  Water movers are available, which reduce stagnation in shallow areas and provide open water around permanent piers or docks during winter months.
